INTRODUCTION

This Privacy Policy explains how Nightweeds collects, uses, stores and shares personal information when you visit nightweeds.com, create an account, place an order, use a payment or sign-in service, or contact us.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Depending on how you use the website, we may collect:

  • Account information, including your email address, username, display name and authentication information managed through WordPress or WooCommerce.
  • Contact and order information, including your first and last name, email address, optional telephone number, billing address, shipping address and order notes.
  • Purchase information, including products, sizes, variations, quantities, prices, payment status, delivery status, refunds and order history.
  • Customer-service communications and information you choose to provide by email or through a third-party messaging service.
  • Technical information, including IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, request time, referring information where available, HTTP status and security or error details.
  • Cookie, session and consent-preference information used to keep you signed in, maintain your cart, remember settings and record cookie choices.

ACCOUNTS AND REGISTRATION

You must sign in to complete checkout. You may create an account through the My Account page or during checkout. WooCommerce may automatically generate a username and password for the account.

We use account information to authenticate you, provide order history, save account and address details, support checkout and protect the website from misuse.

GOOGLE SIGN-IN

If you choose Sign in with Google, Google may provide basic profile information such as a provider identifier, your name, email address and profile image. We use this information to create or connect a local WordPress account and enable future sign-ins.

Google processes information under its own privacy terms. You can review the Google Privacy Policy. Using Google Sign-In is optional; you may use the standard account registration and login process instead.

ORDERS AND PRODUCT CHOICES

When you place an order, we use your account, contact, billing, shipping, product, size, variation and order-note information to process the order, communicate with you, prevent fraud, arrange delivery, handle returns or refunds and maintain order records.

Some Nightweeds products are produced after an order is confirmed. We use the product choices and instructions included in your order only as reasonably necessary to prepare and fulfil that order.

PAYMENTS

PayPal is the payment service currently available at checkout. When you choose PayPal, information required to create, authorise and protect the transaction may be shared with PayPal, including your name, contact details, billing and shipping addresses, order information, transaction amount and technical or security information.

PayPal acts as an independent payment service provider and controls its own processing and retention of payment data. Please review the PayPal Privacy Statement. Nightweeds does not receive or store your complete payment-card number or PayPal login credentials.

SHIPPING AND DELIVERY

We use and may share the information reasonably required to deliver an order, including your name, delivery address, contact details and relevant order information, with postal, courier or logistics providers used for fulfilment.

COOKIES AND SESSIONS

The website uses first-party cookies and similar browser storage for essential and functional purposes. These may include WordPress login and preference cookies, WooCommerce cart and session cookies, and a WPConsent cookie that records your consent preferences.

Payment, Google Sign-In and WhatsApp services may set or read provider-controlled cookies or browser storage when you use those services. Their use is governed by the relevant provider privacy terms. Where a consent control is presented, you can use it to manage non-essential categories available through the website.

WHATSAPP CONTACT

The website may display a WhatsApp contact button provided through Joinchat. If you choose to use it, you leave Nightweeds and communicate through WhatsApp. WhatsApp or Meta may receive your account, device, communications and technical information under their own terms. Nightweeds receives only the information you choose to send in the conversation.

EMAIL AND CUSTOMER SERVICE

When you contact us, we use your email address, message and any related order information to respond, investigate issues and provide customer service. Order and account emails are sent through a configured third-party SMTP email service, which may process recipient details, message content and technical delivery logs.

SERVER LOGS, SECURITY AND CLOUDFLARE

Our hosting, OpenResty and Cloudflare infrastructure may process and record technical information such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, request time, response status and error or security details. We use this information to operate the website, investigate faults, prevent abuse and protect accounts, orders and services.

WOOCOMMERCE USAGE INFORMATION

WooCommerce usage tracking is currently enabled. This may send technical and statistical information about the store and enabled WooCommerce features to Woo or Automattic. Where WooCommerce order-attribution information is included, it may contain statistical source, campaign, device or session information, but not customer email, billing-address or shipping-address fields.

HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use personal information where reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide accounts, sign-in, carts, checkout, payments, order history and customer service.
  • Process, prepare, deliver, return, refund and record orders.
  • Send transactional and service communications.
  • Maintain security, prevent fraud, diagnose errors and enforce our terms.
  • Comply with legal, tax, accounting, payment and operational obligations.
  • Improve website reliability, accessibility and store operations.

SHARING WITH SERVICE PROVIDERS

We may share information only as reasonably necessary with service providers supporting the website and your order, including PayPal, Google Sign-In, WooCommerce or Automattic services, our SMTP email provider, Cloudflare, hosting providers, delivery providers and WhatsApp when you choose that contact method.

We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect rights or safety, prevent fraud, resolve disputes or enforce agreements.

INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING

Nightweeds operates from China and serves customers online. Some service providers may process information in other countries. Privacy protections and legal requirements may differ between locations, and each independent provider applies its own safeguards and privacy terms.

DATA RETENTION

Current WooCommerce retention settings provide that:

  • Inactive customer accounts may be deleted after 6 months without login or order activity.
  • Pending-payment orders may be moved to the Trash after 3 days.
  • Failed orders may be moved to the Trash after 1 day.
  • Cancelled orders may be moved to the Trash after 3 days.
  • Personal information in completed orders may be anonymised after 12 months while the non-personal order record is retained.

Moving an order to the Trash is not the same as permanent deletion. An account-erasure request does not currently remove personal information from order or download records automatically. We may retain information for longer where reasonably necessary for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute, backup or security purposes.

PayPal, Google, WhatsApp, email, delivery, hosting and other independent providers apply their own retention periods. Their records are not controlled by the WooCommerce retention settings described above.

YOUR CHOICES AND REQUESTS

Subject to applicable law and appropriate identity verification, you may ask us to provide access to personal information we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, export available account information, or delete information that we are not required or permitted to retain.

You can update certain account and address information through My Account. You may also manage available cookie preferences through the website consent controls. Requests may be sent to [email protected].

CHILDREN

The website is not intended for children to use independently. If you are under 18, you may use the website and place an order only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES

The website may link to or use independent third-party services. Their websites, applications and privacy practices are controlled by them, not by Nightweeds. Review the relevant provider privacy information before using an external service.
